DIY: Making your own edible Christmas trees. 

Making your own trees is actually quite simple. And fun. Especially if you do it with someone else. Like your children. Or a friend. All you need next is a shopping list. Which we provided you with below. And a step by step guide on how to make them.

 

What do you need?

-    Primus Wafer Paper from your local Cake decoration supplier

-    Choose green wafer paper, or paint it yourself with an airbrush. Layer by layer.

-    Wooden skewers, a dowel or lollipopstick.

-    Small scissors, utility knife, or a rotary cutter.

-       Water, or edible glue.

-       Paintbrush.

-    Dragee pearls, to decorate the tree.

-       Tweezers, for precise handling.

-       Cutting mat.

 

Step-by-step instructions:

 

  1. Cut the wafer paper in small rectangular strokes.
  2. Curl the edges for a more tree-like look.
  3. Attach the wafer paper with a small amount of water, or edible glue. Hold it a few seconds to make sure it sticks.
  4. Airbrush the tree, layer by layer.
  5. Attach the dragee pearls to your tree to finish it off.
  6. Let the tree dry.
  7. Your own crafted tree is now ready to add on top of your cakes or desserts.
  8. Enjoy your own beautifully crafted tree!
