The edible paper industry has made a big progress. And is always on the move with exciting, new and innovative products. There are countless new, surprising and funny possibilities with edible paper.

Edible paper as art

The art world has also discovered that the possibilities with edible paper are truly limitless. How about the artist Daniele Zonta who makes art with edible paper that has been eaten by crickets. This produces unique art. And a delicious feast for the crickets.

"The artwork was very well received at the Biennale of Irpinia, and the curator, Rossella Della Vecchia, was particularly enthusiastic about it. It has been a great experience, and I am confident it is just the beginning.""

Flower bouquets

Artist Petya Shmarova website does it slightly different. She makes entire flower bouquets from edible paper. Something that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the world of professional confectionery. Edible decorations for cakes are now the standard there. Instead of those outdated plastic ones.

And what about the creation Jeanot Zandee, former student at Tilburg University. She has designed a beautiful pink dress from edible paper. And it didn't end there.

Big, bigger, biggest

A unique attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records. The largest candy cake in the world. 100 square meters of cake and almost 9 meters high. Everyone knows; the bottom of the cake is at least as important as the cake itself. And that base consisted… entirely of edible paper.

Not just any edible wrapping paper…

Just as the edible paper industry hasn’t stood still, the packaging industry hasn’t stood still either.

Call it the 'sign of the times'. Disposable plastic packaging is no longer acceptable these days.

The edible paper industry has responded cleverly to this. Because nowadays all kinds of packaging can be invented and made from edible paper. Because, why not put your French fries in a paper bag. Which you can also eat. Or, why not eat the wrapper around your cupcake too? Sounds delicious. The possibilities are endless. And sustainable as well, because it can be biodegraded. Call it the sign of the times.

Christmas stress? Relaaaaaax.

A fun promotion by the Berlin transport company BVG in the stressful days before Christmas. They designed an edible transport ticket especially for these days. Topped with a few drops of hemp oil. This way you can do your Christmas shopping all day long throughout the city. And afterwards enjoy the relaxing effect of the hemp oil. Warning: do not eat your ticket until you no longer need it to continue your journey.
