Primus wafer paper won the New Product Showcase Award at ISM 2025 with Yummy Super Sour!

We are proud to announce that we have won the New Product Showcase Award at ISM 2025 in Cologne! ISM is the world’s largest and most prestigious confectionery trade fair, and this award confirms that our product is truly unique.
Our winning product, Yummy Super Sour, stands out for its fantastic qualities: it is gelatine-free, 100% vegan, and proudly made in the Netherlands. Additionally, it is made on wafer paper, creating a distinctive and innovative candy experience.
The award ceremony took place during an elegant dinner in Cologne, where we had the honour of celebrating this special achievement. We are incredibly proud of this success and want to thank our entire team – together, we made this possible!

ISM 2025: New Product Showcase Award Recognises the Best Innovations in the Confectionery and Snack World
Primus Wafer Paper BV, Confiserie Vandenbulcke, and Barth Ltd. impressed the expert jury of the ISM New Product Showcase Awards. Innovations have always driven the confectionery and snack industry, combining new flavours, creative ingredients, and sustainable approaches. At ISM 2025, the most creative new products were honoured yesterday. The award-winning creations not only wow with their exceptional taste experiences but also excel in terms of sustainability and innovation. An independent jury, consisting of renowned experts from industry, trade, and science, evaluated 110 submitted products from 65 companies.
The top three innovations were awarded at yesterday's ISM dinner. From now on, visitors can admire the winners at the New Product Showcase area in Lab5 by ISM (Hall 10.1). First place went to Primus Wafer Paper BV from the Netherlands with Yummy Super Sour Candy Paper. These ultra-thin sheets made from potato starch gently melt in the mouth, unfolding an intense and surprisingly sour flavour. The apple and lemon flavours provide a unique taste combination. The jury was particularly impressed by the thoughtful product development, which not only delivers an extraordinary taste experience but also meets high standards of quality and sustainability – made in a BRC-A+ certified production facility in the Netherlands.
The next Super Sour Hero
Yummy Super Sour is the newest addition to the candy paper family, following up the successful introduction of Yummy Money, Yummy Doodles and Yummy Jaws. Yummy Super Sour is a starch-based piece of wafer paper that is coated with sugar and sour. For the colours and flavours, only natural ingredients are being used. Instead of most candy, Yummy Super Sour is made from potato starch, which is why it is 100% vegan, gluten-free and allergen free. The paper melts in your mouth leaving that great taste, a sour enthusiast could only hope for. Without the sugary jelly-like residues that are left when you eat sour mats, gummy bears and alike.
